Genetic testing is often an expensive process, and costs can deter providers and families from obtaining necessary testing. Claritas has developed billing and financial programs to minimize expense for patients at all levels of income and insurance. In addition, Claritas works directly with familes and insurance providers to resolve denied claims and/or patient financial responsibility with respect to all applicable state and federal laws.

For hospitals or organizations in the United States and Canada that wish Claritas to bill directly, please complete the Client Registration Form in advance of sending specimens, if at all possible. An account will be created for the organization and invoices will be sent on a monthly basis.
International Samples: Claritas requires pre-payment for testing from institutions outside the United States or Canada. We accept payment by money order, bank transfer, credit card, or PayPal. Contact Claritas Client Services (Toll Free: (855) 373-9003, [email protected]) for more information.
Commercial Insurance/Third-Party Billing
Claritas Genomics can bill patient’s health insurance and will make every effort to appeal any denied claim or unreasonable patient responsibility.
Requirements for Claritas to bill commercial insurance:
- Completed insurance information and credit card information
- Patient Signature
- Copy of front and back of the patient’s health insurance card(s)
Patients will receive bills from Claritas for any non-covered or out of network services, co-payments, deductibles, or balances as required by their insurers unless the patient applies and meets financial criteria defined by the Claritas Patient Access Program. Any patients for whom payment is received at the time of test order will receive a 10% discount off billed charges. Claritas accepts the following as forms of payment from patients: Money order, bank transfer, credit card, and PayPal. Claritas Patient Access Program
Claritas’ Patient Access Program is established to help patients and families at all income levels plan for their medical costs, whether or not they have health insurance. The program provides support to each patient based on their needs, including co-payments, and deductibles, and to help mitigate overall out-of-pocket expenses for Claritas services.
Testing fees may be discounted, waived, or allocated by payment plan for any patients who can demonstrate financial hardship regardless of health insurance status. Contact Claritas Client Services (Toll Free: (855) 373-9003, [email protected]) for more information.
Testing may be cancelled within 24 hours of receipt at the laboratory, if the sample is not placed on hold. After this time, the full cost of testing will apply. Once testing has been started, a test cannot be cancelled and full charges will apply. We recommend that Health Care Provider contact our Client Services department directly (Toll Free: (855) 373-9003, [email protected]) to cancel or hold testing.
