The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst is responsible for the build, validation, implementation and support of our LIS EHR interfaces and portal services. They will work within a multi­functional team to design and test the EHR, act as the primary contact/troubleshooter for day to day support for related issues, and assist in internal team communications between various Claritas stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, build, test, and implement EHR modules within the clinical or financial applications
  • Maintain build changes/enhancements to modules
  • Accept change requests, monitor progress, and track change control documentation
  • Consult with team members and the clinical community to match users’ needs to the capabilities of the software
  • Understand, monitor, track and inform on compliance and regulatory standards and events (CLIA, HIPAA, AE, etc)
  • Take the lead on complex issue resolution: include and communicate with team members to identify a resolution, as well as working with vendors to diagnose issue and correct them
  • Troubleshoot and support modules
  • Conduct appropriate user trainings
  • Assisting with the creation of Clinical SOPs, Policies and Procedures
  • Assisting in the rapid validation of new workflows and processes including end to end testing
  • Coordination of releases and updates with EHR vendor, Claritas software, bioinformatics and laboratory teams
  • Assess the global picture of the company needs and create resolutions that fit with both those and the individual and/or departmental needs
  • Coordinate user management of the system
  • Communicate with senior level management and work with tight deadlines
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Handle interpersonal situations with empathy and resolve differences of opinion effectively
  • Clearly articulate and present solutions to colleagues and customers in the user community

Qualifications:

  • Previous clinical lab experience with an in depth understanding of clinical sample processing, specimen tracking, data review, and clinical report distribution
  • A background in Healthcare Information Technology with demonstrated success
  • Ability to assess current workflows and identify improvement points that will fit into the existing LIS
  • Ability to manage relationships with a wide range of customers (including internal and external)
  • Proven critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills and conflict/resolution skills
  • Ability to analyze and assess complex systems and workflows
  • Ability to work independently, while supporting the vision of the team
  • Visio/workflow diagram creation a plus
  • Instrument integration knowledge a plus
  • Previous Cerner experience a plus
